The 7th annual Teddy Bear 5K & 1K Walk/Run is fast approaching! Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 29th, 2019, for the run through three parks in Pimmit Hills neighborhood!  Runners and walkers registered by Friday, Aug. 30 are guaranteed a race t-shirt in their size.

This year, the 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. A Mascot Race and the 1K will follow at 10 a.m. Also new this year, 1K runners and walkers will start at Pimmit Hills Park, 2061 Arch St.,  and run Griffith Drive, the first street of the 5K course,  in Pimmit Hills, which will be closed to traffic. 

As always, everyone will receive a teddy bear when they cross the finish lines for both 5K & 1K.

5K runners also can compete for great prizes donated by area restaurants and retail stores. Prizes will go to 1st place male and female winners of age groups, from age 6 to 86, in addition to overall and fastest male and female, and fastest mom and dad in the Stroller Division! 2nd and 3rd place winners receive medals.  Register online at https://www.athlinks.com/event/2019-teddy-bear-5k-1k-walkrun-86494

Children ages 12 and under must run with a registered adult.

Packet Pick Up: Beat the long lines on race morning and pick up your bib and goodies at Road Runner Sports, 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, located in the strip mall between CVS Pharmacy and Staples, at 1120 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA 22046. Registrations also available there.

Proceeds from the Teddy Bear 5K & 1K Walk/Run contribute to the Children’s Center’s Annual Fund to keep the program quality high and tuition costs affordable for low- and moderate-income, working families.
