Falls Church - McLean Children's Center

Sunny skies and moderate temperatures rewarded the  261 spirited runners and walkers who turned out for the 7th Annual Teddy Bear 5K & 1K Walk/Run on Sunday. We thank everyone who participated, including volunteers, sponsors and prize donors.

Falls Church City Dave Tartar and Council member Phil Duncan awarded runners teddy bears as they crossed the finish line.  

5K runners who finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd also were awarded prizes or medals. Overall top runners were: Male, Oliver Wei, Falls Church, 19:13, and Female, Monique Rico, Chantilly, 22:59; Fastest mom and dad in the Stroller Division were Yoko Meusch, Falls Church, 25:09, and Steve DeVito, Alexandria, 26:59.

Youngest winning runners were: Female, 6-8 age group, Keira Reif, Alexandria, 33:57, and Male,  6-8 yrs, Sakuta Aizawa, Falls Church, 24:21.

Timing was provided by 412 Events. 

This year, 1K runners and walkers moved to the first street of the 5K course, Griffith Drive in Pimmit Hills neighborhood. We thank Fairfax County Auxilliary Police from the McLean Division and volunteers who provided protection for participants. Thanks also to Pimmit Hills residents for their cooperation.
