Parent Handbook
Our parent handbook is a valuable resource, and gives parents a wealth of information regarding our Center’s policies and expectations. The handbook includes forms to bring in on your child’s first day of school, as well as a list of the members on our Board of Directors. The handbook provides information regarding field trips, our program, and the outdoor learning center. It also describes our curriculum in depth, gives and overview of our Center’s goals, and describes our policies on parent involvement and visitors. Finally, the handbook lists our discipline, health, and pick-up policies. Note: The Center closes on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30 for staff training. State Licensing regulations, the Health Department, NAEYC and Virginia’s Quality Rating Improvement Plan require extensive training so it is important that these meetings start on time. Snow Policy
Snow Prodedures
LISTEN TO THE RADIO or CHANNEL 21 on television to obtain information about school closings and/or Call the Center to listen to the message on the answering machine.
If Fairfax County Schools are closed, we are closed.
If Fairfax County schools are open 2 hours late, we open at 8:30 am.
Mid-day or Afternoon Snow
Our general policy is to remain open until 6:00 p.m. We ask parents to leave work earlier so that our staff may leave on time and so that both parents and staff may have a safe trip home. If Fairfax County Public Schools close early due to inclement weather the center will close at 3:00.
