Falls Church - McLean Children's Center

After twelve years of teaching in a Montessori program, Ivania Ramos came to the Center in February 2010. A gentle, capable teacher, Ivania holds an AA degree in Psychology in her native Nicaragua. She lives with her two children and husband.

What is your favorite part about being a teacher here?

Spending time with the children. I have fun when I come here every day to play and learn with the kids. I enjoy reading with them, and I like my job because there is always something new that happens every day.

What is special about the FCMLCC compared to other preschool programs?

I like the people here; they are very professional.

What are your favorite activities to do with your students?

Projects. I love doing projects with the children, because it allows me to spend one-on-one time with them.

Why is early childhood education important?

It teaches the children a lot. It is good for them, because it exposes them to new experiences.

What is something special that you bring to the Center?

I like to share different games and stories with the children.
