Falls Church - McLean Children's Center

Seven PNC bank branch managers and a representative from PNC corporate headquarters spent an exciting morning with our children Wednesday, reading and constructing masks as part of their Grow Up Great day in the D.C. metro area.

To continue the learning after this special day, PNC donated a copy of the book that volunteers read, “No Red Sweater for Daniel,” for each child to take home. PNC volunteers also surprised everyone at the Children’s Center with a generous gift — an I-Pad for each of our 5 classrooms, along with protective screens and gift cards for new music and other apps.

THANK YOU PNC and your Grow Up Great Initiative. We especially thank our volunteers: Branch Managers Angela Faison, Lynna Aguilar, Pablo Aguilar, Emily Bailey, David Marquina, Rosa Canenquez, and David Notaro from PNC Commercial Banking at PNC headquarters, shown below with our Executive Director Elizabeth Page.

Early childhood education has been the focus of PNC’s philathropic support since 2004 when it launched the Grow Up Great Initiative to prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life. Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center has received numerous grants from the PNC Foundation. This year, PNC awarded the Children’s Center a $10,000 grant for out-of-classroom learning opportunities.
