Shoppers at Whole Foods Market on Wednesday were greeted by local celebrities and Center supporters who took time away from meetings and other day job responsibilities to carefully bagged groceries and promote the Children’s Center’s upcoming Teddy Bear 5K & 1K.
“This is one job I actually never did before,” Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust said. “I worked at just about every other job to put myself through college, but never at a grocery store.”
It was all part of 5% day when the Children’s Center was the nonprofit organization chosen to receive a portion of the day’s sales in support of our education program. The busy sales day returned just over $4,000. Thanks to all shoppers and Celebrities and to Whole Foods Market for choosing the Children’s Center!!
